About the department

The Technical Diploma of Pharmacy is offered on a full-time basis. The full-time program is offered only at the KTI Main Campus in Sulaimani Heights. The duration of study for the full-time program is subjected to the student’s entry qualifications and lasts between two (2) years to a maximum of four (4) years. 


Award Requirements

 

To graduate, students must:

  • Achieve a total of 120 credit hours with a minimum CGPA of 2.0

  • Pass the summer training course


Entry Requirements

The minimum qualifications for candidates who intend to do a Technical Diploma of Pharmacy  are as follows:

1)  Minimum results based on the Kurdistan Baccalaureate High School Certificate (results would be based on the general requirements as well as other conditions as the pre-requisites for the program set by the institute). The percentage to enter the competition is %60


2)  Entry Requirements are subject to change according to annual amendments by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

 

After having been exposed to 2 to 4 years of working experience, our graduates should become professionals who demonstrate the following competencies:

PEO1   

Be able to function as assistant pharmacists in private and public pharmacies They are also expected to independently be able to take charge of everyday workload in their workplaces. Alternatively, our graduates should be able to function as medical sales representatives for the various pharmaceutical companies that work in the region. 

PEO2

Demonstrate the ability to implement the techniques, skills and theoretical knowledge they gained during their education in their workplaces. Graduates are especially expected to excel in implementing the technical aspects of pharmaceutical training they have rigorously been subjected to during their education. 

PEO3

Ability to demonstrate innovation and creativity in the positions they occupy at either private or public pharmacies as well as health centers in order to advance their career and the pharmaceutical industry as a whole.   

PEO4

Become leaders or innovators in the pharmacy discipline and showcasing team-player qualities and other leadership skills that renders them successful in their employment positions. 

PEO5

Demonstrate an awareness of professional ethics and social responsibility as assistant pharmacists, pharmacy managers or medical sales representatives.
